A comment _ Whether postcard or not, these collages are worth a short post. All of them are very good designs, lovely assemblages of images. if they were sent in the 60 or so as postcards to no matter where and from, my joy would be even bigger and would know - if not breaking the privacy rights - what the back rear of the postcard was like? Perhaps the webmaster has the scan.

Isn't it everybody's dream to travel? Especially if it is travelling the whole world. Continent by continent; countries by countries. Dreaming is free but reality is we can't all travel the whole world. Good news is, I know a way how? Are you excited to know it too? Mmmm...ready to read this? The great way to travel all around the world is by collecting postcards. Yes! you read it right...it is the postcards!!!

I got hooked by these beautiful things last September 2003. As I was cleaning and organizing my things (a very hard task for me!) I saw all of my postcards from previous school projects, gifts from my penpals, families and friends who lived abroad and during my travels too. I saw the sceneries and then I said to myself "Oh how beautiful these places are!" but I thought it cost too much to go to those places. So an idea crops up, I should start collecting postcards and it would be like I've been to that places

Comment - a nice site - with philosophical thoughts and general ideas on collecting postcards - how a person realizes its very own beauties, gets hooked by deltiology. I did not find a huge display of postcards here, but those not for trade are all with no exception the best quality sent postcards, which in terms of nowadays trends in collecting are real jewels, in comparison to those mint and not sent, which give much less information on time and space and the postal services at their time.

A unique animal, the pudu lives in Chile.
It is a dwarf deer -- growing no taller than 40 centimeters and weighing less than ten kilograms.

The postcards are only rarely to be found on this site, the beauty of this site is in showing the life of people teaching English in Chile - the changes of the staff.
As a deltiologist I have little on which to assess.

Hello this is my collection of old vintage postcards of Edinburg Ind. The card on the left is the Edinburgh First Christian Church since 1834 is the oldest existing church in Edinburgh. The current building was dedicated August
12,1888. this postcard was postmarked 1912.

This is a relatively small collection of postcards and they are focused on the Edinburg area in Indianopolis and this is tightly linked to the first Christian Church founded in 1832 after the two streams Campbell's and Stone's fused and established the Disciples of Christ - as I myself have strong spiritual ties towards Hussite and European Reformist I appreciate that they took almost the same token i e logo for their service to our Lord: the Chalice. The only difference from the evangelical church here in Bohemia is that cross inside the chalice (the similarity of the Czech word 'kalich' and German 'Kelch' and Latine 'calix' is most than remarkable.
As a deltiologist, I highly treasure this kind of small topically and locally oriented postcards because they reflect the identity in time and space of a group of people, not only the postal services habits and the current themes of the postcard's time of issuing. Well done - a nice example that the biggest and hugest may not always be the best and on the contrary smaller collection may be of much higher authenticity and deltiologic importance and challenge for reseach.

A highly professional website dedicated to the best period of deltiology and to the most attractive topics e g the town views. This is the postcard tradition itself and the beginning - even before the 1868 or so, when the first edition issued by postal services in the USA marked the beginning of the postcard, we had views of Capital Cities in Europe engraved or etched or after abt 1800 lithographed on the limestone and documented and sometimes in smaller size sent by curriers to another state. The view of the state or a map of it with the capital city was also sort of presentation of the ruling authority, king, president, etc abroad - remember the radio and TV did not exist!
On this site every collector can find a lot inspiration and advice for creating a rich collection of her or his own - even technical means are offered.

A lovely site, where I find the precious feeling of an ardent collector who understands the superior value of a sent postcard with all the treasured marks of distance and authenticity of the place where the postcard was sent from.
And I learned that widokowka means postcard in Polish.
This is the bold traveling of a postcard through many countries, the sublime adventure or a small piece of thick paper not protected with envelope, not unlike a courageous warrior among heavily wrapped parcels and letters, all this adds the unique beauty to a sent postcard.
