Postcards

Postcards: "A postcard or post card is typically a rectangular piece of thick paper or thin cardboard intended for writing and mailing without an envelope and at a lower rate than a letter. "

The Wikipedia defines only mint postcard - intended. The definition pertains to the user not a collector. This is the privelege of a collector to make up her or his mind up whether to collect used items or fresh ones. Here typically a used item cannot be reused whereus this is not he case with some other collectibles e g antiquities, veteran cars. In these categories preserved function may be applied as quality criterion - in deltiology this is not the case: what is important is the authenticity material quality and amount of information that a deltiologist may gather from the piece: thus it does not matter significantly whether the postcard is new or used. On the contrary - the used may be rarer and seem to growing rarer as the electronic systems of data and image transfer are ever more usual and common in all walks of life - in sending short messages with a photograph or picture we have a whole lot of efficient digital methods to do this.

Postcards of Distinction from the 2003 Free Card and Advertising Card series

Postcards of Distinction from the 2003 Free Card and Advertising Card series: "The following freecard / advertising card series are by far the most distinctive set of cards released in New York City for the year 2003, and their preceding counterparts for 2002 are just as unique and outstanding.
The Video Music Awards Promo Postcard set of 2003 features Chris Rock, Fred Durst, Snoopp Dogg, Ozzie
Osbourne, Beyonce Knowles and Britney Spears.
The 2003 US Open features Andre Aggassi twice over, in the card of distinction (a hologram card) where he is shown hoisting his trophy up in 2 of his 4 previous US Open wins, and in a play shot. Other players featured are James Blake, Monica Seles and Ms. Hantukova.
The MTV VMA 2003 Series"

Certainly a very good site on postcards with modern design perfect English and a lot of original and good quality postcards with all the qualities we expect from them as deltiologists. last update was 2 years ago and site seems deserted - this would be a pity.

Sorry!

Sorry!
A site where nothing is for a while - and no postcards either - the webmaster said - sorry folks.

My 5 X 7 Lightning Postcards

My 5 X 7 Lightning PostcardsYaah'teeh, Welcome to my Postcard Page.

My 5 x 7 inch postcards are for sale. See how to order and prices at the end of this page. My flute music you will hear, was recorded live on location during a thunderstrom near the Grand Canyon AZ.

Dear Seeker: Within you is a spirit. Your spirit is very strong and beautiful. Your spirit is very real. Some things people say are not real. Know yourself and all that power and beauty that is within you. For that is very real.

An original set of 5 postcards - or strictly speaking images that would be printed out on demand and sent to a customer. Something like postcard happening - with monotoneous sound of the flute - we have the live postcatds which is a picture taken in real time by a web camera. But how should they be collected? Are these postcards or simply on line coverage of a certain place? I would prefer the latter. Not sent by post, not even printed out. To use words should be a little bit more responsible.

Comment: the postcards with dogs are lovely - they are shown rescuing people in the mountaineous Pyrenean Region - the dog families with a dog mother and puppies are lovely.

Blue Ridge Post Cards (18 of 782)

A collection covering only one place and a lot of postcard variations published over almost 100 years. It has almost scietific format and structure. Nice to see the changes of one place in so many ears.
